We don't need a chance at the cost of war and blood - Kadagishvili's Russian lies about NATO

Georgian Dream MP Irakli Kadagishvili says that Georgia is the leading country in terms of compatibility with NATO and the EU "according to objective data". However, he says the North Atlantic Alliance is not ready to accept Ukraine and Georgia. Kadagishvili also states that one of the main reasons Russia started the war in Ukraine was aspiration towards the North Atlantic Alliance. According to him, Georgia does not need such a chance "at the expense of war and blood".

"So far, NATO is not ready for Ukraine's admission to NATO, nor for Georgia's admission to NATO. You remember that the President of Ukraine gave a de facto ultimatum when he said that if a concrete NATO admission plan is not announced for Ukraine I will not go to this summit....

First of all I want to tell you that reforms are being carried out and Georgia is the leading country in terms of reforms, in terms of compatibility with NATO, in terms of compatibility with the European Union, in terms of all objective data and all objective assessments. One of the main reasons for Russia to start the war in Ukraine was the desire of Ukraine to join NATO... If we had such a situation as today in Ukraine, we would also be given certain preferences, so to speak. But do we want it at this price? I do not think so... Let's understand one thing, we do not need such a chance at the cost of war and blood," Kadagishvili said

For information, the NATO summit is taking place in Vilnius on 11-12 July. The NATO secretary-general says that they will have positive signals for Ukraine. According to Jens Stoltenberg, the two-stage accession process will become one-stage. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said on 10 July that the alliance allies had reached an agreement on excluding MAP from the country's membership path.
