Mtavari Channel officially stops broadcasting today.

For 5 years and 8 months, the most important part of Mtavari was you—our viewers, the Georgian public, and the values that unite us all—values that brought us this far; values that must guide us forward, not only to remain a dignified part of Europe, but of the world; values that “Georgian Dream” relentlessly attacks and gradually destroys.

We, too, fought hard. From the day we were founded, it wasn’t easy to keep this channel alive. We faced many challenges that would have broken others. We also had successes, and we made mistakes, but we never stopped working to improve—even during the toughest crises. Many times, we came close to shutting down, but each time, thanks to the personal dedication, sacrifice, and loyalty of every single team member, and the support of ordinary people and partners—sometimes through a single lari donation, or just words of encouragement—we survived. Against all odds, we held our place as Georgia’s most influential and highest-rated critical media outlet. Sometimes even we were surprised by our own endurance and achievements.

We really endured the impossible—but as so often happens in Georgian history, our downfall came from within, not from the enemy outside. The one who ultimately brought us down was the very person who once helped us build these unbreakable walls. One of our co-founders, driven by personal motives or revenge, led Mtavari to its closure—doing a great favor for the Russian regime in the process.

At this point, only our digital department—our social media platforms and website—will remain active. We no longer have the means to continue television broadcasting.

Thank you for watching, for listening, and for supporting the Mtavari team, which kept working for you at any cost. Whether on camera or behind the scenes, we will continue to fight for the same values—and wherever we are, you, the Georgian people, and our country, will remain our priority.
See you next time
