Opposition to Sign CEC Code of Conduct Independently of Georgian Dream

Published:

Opposition groups agreed that they would sign the Code of Political Conduct, drafted by the CEC, independently of the "Georgian Dream".

Opposition leaders arrived at the "Labor Party" office to sign the agreement. According to them, "Georgian Dream" is characterized by breaching the conditions and, this time, the agreement with the ruling team on the norms of political behavior will be ineffective.

We have developed a Code of Political Conduct with partner international organizations. It is important for the opposition to prove to them that we will be guided only by the rules of the democratic game for elections. As for the "Georgian Dream", it violates all agreements. Representatives of the opposition, through joint efforts, will not allow the "Dream" to steal the elections, - said Tina Bokuchava, a member of the "National Movement".

Recall  that the Central Election Commission published the Code of Conduct for Parties for the 2020 Parliamentary Elections of Georgia on September 12.

According to the Code, the parties recognize the importance of upholding the principles of justice, democratic dialogue and cooperation with each other.
