On February 2, the oligarch’s police attacked Mtavari Channel journalist Dea Mamiseishvili, physically assaulting her while she was carrying out her professional duties. The so-called police officers shoved her, struck her with their hands and feet, and verbally abused her, cursing and swearing at her.
“Luka Bachilava [the cameraman] was filming the person who was being beaten and assaulted. When they noticed that I was also recording with my phone, they ran at me—there was a physical attack, they started hitting me. The rest of what they said can be clearly heard in the video,” said Dea Mamiseishvili.
Mamiseishvili herself later published the video footage of the incident on social media. The attackers also physically assaulted TV Pirveli cameraman Niko Kokaia, who remains hospitalized with a concussion.
