"They see less desire for cooperation from Georgia in Washington," said Nino Lomjaria, the Public Defender of Georgia, who is on an official visit to Washington. In an interview with the Voice of America, she mentioned that there is some frustration in America toward Georgia.
"The partnership between the United States and Georgia is based on people-to-people relations. But cooperation between governments is very important in that relationship. We've been told that there's a sense that there's less cooperation from [the Georgian government]. [They see that] there are attacks on the American ambassador, and [they see] propaganda that is fueling beliefs in Georgia that America wants war in Georgia, etc. Of course, these sentiments have an impact, and we already can say that it has affected our relationship to some extent. So if this continues, it will have serious consequences," said Nino Lomjaria.
