"Dream" did not support the PACE resolution suggesting declaring Russia a terrorist state - the reason was the record on Mikheil Saakashvili

"Georgian Dream" has not yet reacted to the resolution adopted in Strasbourg, although it is known that the Georgian authorities did not support the document and did not show up for the vote. The reason was the amendment on Mikheil Saakashvili.

The main content of the resolution is to declare Russia a terrorist state.

The Council of Europe resolution mentions Mikheil Saakashvili as a prisoner of Putin and says that his case must be reviewed. Along with the third president of Georgia, Vladimir Kara-Murza is mentioned in the document as a prisoner of Putin. The resolution demands his immediate release:

"Among the most prominent public figures prosecuted for criticizing the war is Vladimir Kara-Murza, who has been detained since April 2022. In support of his courage and determination to build a democratic and peaceful Russia, the Assembly calls upon the Russian authorities to immediately release Vladimir Kara-Murza.

The Assembly also demands that the cases of other political prisoners opposing President Putin in the Russian Federation and in other countries be considered and that they be set free, including Ukrainian citizen and former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe [PACE] passed the resolution unanimously yesterday, October 13.
