They snuck in an amendment mentioning Mikheil Saakashvili - Kobakhidze on the PACE resolution

Chairman of the Georgian Dream Irakli Kobakhidze says that with 56 votes they "sneaked" an amendment into the Assembly which mentions Georgia's third president Mikheil Saakashvili. According to Kobakhidze, this is not anything special and it is "not a fair" record.

The Council of Europe resolution mentions Mikheil Saakashvili as Putin's prisoner and says his case must be reviewed. Along with the third president of Georgia, Vladimir Kara-Murza is mentioned in the document as a prisoner of Putin. The resolution demands his immediate release:

"Thursday, everyone knows it's the most passive day in the assembly, with 56 votes in the 600-member assembly they snuck in an ammendment that mentions Mikheil Saakashvili. It is a sad event in general, although it is not surprising at all, considering that they passed such an unfair resolution with 300 votes a few months before.

It is nothing special, there is one unfair remark that was made in PACE Resolution, the main thing is that our partners know everything about this case, they know that prisoner Mikheil Saakashvili is under medical supervision, all conditions have been created for medical services and the rest is political speculation," Kobakhidze said.

Irakli Chikovani argues that the Georgian Dream supported the goal that the resolution originally pursued:

"Several people, including most of the representatives of the Ukrainian delegation, as well as representatives of the EPP initiated this change, they also put Mikheil Saakashvili in brackets, this is an absolutely inappropriate thing, inappropriate in this resolution."
