According to the regulations it is possible to support a resolution without specific amendment - Dekanoidze about PACE resolution

Published:

According to United National Movement member Khatia Dekanoidze, the Georgian Dream could have supported the PACE resolution without specific amendments.

We are referring to the resolution adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on October 13, which stipulates the declaration of Russia as a terrorist state. The Council of Europe resolution lists Georgia's third president Mikheil Saakashvili as Putin's prisoner. This very entry was the reason that Dream did not support the resolution: "They snuck in an amendment mentioning Mikheil Saakashvili," Kobakhidze said.

It's a shame that 55 MPs from the 600-member parliament sneaked such an amendment and defaced this resolution - Papuashvili at PACE

However, Khatia Dekanoidze says that the statement of the representatives of the leadership is a lie, and according to the regulations of the Council of Europe, support for the resolution is possible even without specific amendments.

"Dreams decision and statement that they did not support the resolution because the fourth amendment was passed for them is a complete lie. The regulations of the Council of Europe stipulate that it is possible to support a resolution without a specific amendment, and this resolution is very significant, because, unfortunately, for the European integration of Georgia under the dream could have another obstacle," - said Khatia Dekanoidze.
