Another trial of Mikheil Saakashvili is scheduled for today at the Tbilisi City Court

Today, October 19, the next trial of the third president in the case of illegal border crossing is scheduled. According to his lawyers, Mikheil Saakashvili will probably not be able to attend the trial because of his serious health condition.

The trial is likely to be delayed again. Lawyers are waiting for the experts' report after which they will ask the court to postpone the verdict.

"There is no significant improvement in the state of health, so it is likely that Mikheil Saakashvili will not be able to attend today's trial either. Of course there is a mechanism for the postponement of the sentence, this is a procedural institute, but the final answer to this legal mechanism we will have after we see the conclusion of the expert and become familiar with its contents," - Shota Tutberidze said.
