Living in the past is death, because life is only in motion - Nika Gvaramia

Nika Gvaramia, CEO of the Mtavari Channel, says that today society in Georgia can easily consolidate over only one issue - the past. According to him, to live in the past is to die, because life is movement.

He spoke on this topic during his speech to the Court of Appeals.

"I want to say in a few words what happens in Georgia, as I see it, we can easily consolidate around only one issue, which is the past, we cannot consolidate around the content of the past either. But we can consolidate around it. Our topic for discussion, although it has been one for the past 10 years, is the past. Reflection, history, it is good when you discuss it, make conclusions, to not make the same mistakes, but to live in the past - this is death, the death of society, because life is only in movement, and the struggle, if a person life is static, it is dead, "- said Nika Gvaramia.

According to him, the word that was "snuck in" in 2012 - "dream" - is the hardest word because a dream is the expectation and the mood to sit idly by and wait. Nika Gvaramia noted that dreaming does not lead to struggle, and optimism devoid of struggle is not optimism.

According to Nika Gvaramia, there is always a way forward, in any situation, no matter what happens, but if you look back there is no way forward.

"The government that talks not about the last 10 years, but about the 9 years before that, even from a historical perspective, the era that they talk about, if not from the perspective of today, is slowly moving away," Gvaramia said.

According to him, we often talk about the 10 years of the "dream" or the past in a positive context, which the government mentions negatively.
