I'm not looking for freedom, I'm looking for justice, it's your duty to find it for me - Nika Gvaramia to the court

"We are moving forward to the final victory," was how Nika Gvaramia, CEO of the Mtavari Channel, concluded his final statement to the court of appeals. Today was his last trial.

Nika Gvaramia told judges to make the decision their conscience dictated, and conscience is something you can't ask of a person.

"I would have had exactly the same reaction if this decision had been made at any other time, and I would have had exactly the same reaction if it had been a fine instead of jail time, and I still have the same reaction. Replacing prison time with a fine wouldn't change anything about my struggle at all, rather, I would get out and it would make me even stronger for fighting for what is called justice. I am not looking for freedom, I already am free, I am looking for justice, it is your responsibility to find me justice and fairness," said Nika Gvaramia.
