"At the Crimea platform, we will have an opportunity for parliamentary delegations to once again express their solidarity with Ukraine," said Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.
According to the parliament speaker, Georgia knows what Russian aggression means and how important it is to adequately respond to it by the international community.
"As for our delegation and my speech, based on Georgia's experience, we will have a conversation about what Russian aggression means, what was the inadequate response of the international community in its time and what should be the right response to Russian aggression. We are a country that has experienced Russian aggression many times and knows very well what the right response should be. Based on our experience we will have a conversation about what solidarity with Ukraine should mean," said Shalva Papuashvili.
The session of the first parliamentary summit of the Crimean International Platform was opened. The Speaker of the Parliament addresses the participants at the summit.
43 delegations from 32 parliaments, 5 international parliamentary organizations and 26 chairmen of parliaments are participating in the first parliamentary summit of the Crimean International Platform.
Bilateral meetings between the speaker of parliament and the parliamentary delegation are also scheduled during the visit.
Along with the speaker of the parliament the Georgian parliamentary delegation includes vice speaker Archil Talakvadze and chairman of the Committee on International Relations Nikoloz Samkharadze.
