Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili writes that the World Justice Project 2022 Rule of Law Index ranks Georgia first among 14 countries in the region and is ahead of all EU candidates, as well as 2 member states and 5 NATO member states:
"The World Justice Project 2022 Rule of Law Index has been released (https://worldjusticeproject.org). Georgia ranks first out of 14 countries in the region, ahead of all EU candidates, ahead of 2 EU member states, It is ahead of the 5 NATO member states. Let's remember this, Georgia ranks first in the world in terms of open budget (accordingly it is ahead of all EU member-states), It is ahead of 9 EU member countries and 11 NATO member countries with its low level of corruption.
In many cases facts win over perception and we have already seen the scale of disinformation propaganda aimed at forming negative perception of Georgia.
It is indicative that in June, before the European Council's decision, when the question was raised in the Parliament session hall - whether Georgia in the current situation is worthy to be an EU candidate - only a few people from the opposition raised their hands in approval.
This World Justice Project (WJP) ranking is the result of a multi-stage study:
▪️The organization surveys experts and the public in the countries,
▪️ The research methodology is verified in cooperation with the European Union Commission Research Center.
▪️ verifies the reliability of the research results in comparison with other leading rankings (Freedom House World Freedom Index, Transparency International Corruption Perception Index, Economic Freedom Index, US Human Rights Report, Amnesty International and other similar reports)," Papuashvili writes.
