The European Parliament voted for amendments to the report on the Association Agreement between Georgia and the European Union. The document also refers to the 8 March agreement.

The European Parliament calls on the parties to respect the spirit of the agreement and implement other aspects of the agreement after the pardon of the two opposition leaders. It also calls on the government to investigate all cases of excessive use of force against peaceful demonstrators and journalists by law enforcement agencies and to ensure that those responsible are punished; to protect the rights to peaceful assembly and expression and mitigate disproportionate sanctions imposed on protesters.

The amendments also state that the Government should refrain from bringing politically motivated cases against media owners or representatives.
