Culture Minister Tea Tsulukiani believes that the document approved at a meeting of the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs is a "fertile ground" for denying Georgia the status of an EU candidate.
Tsulukiani said this on air of Imedi TV company. Tsulukiani was asked whether she expected Georgia to be denied candidate status.
"This may be regarded as an assumption on my part, but since you are asking my opinion, I'll tell you what i assume. I have this impression because I read this document very carefully and I had a feeling that because this Georgian Dream, which nobody could do anything about, which has been in power for ten years and on October 25th exactly ten years, nobody could do anything. And since they couldn't do anything, they work, and it may even turn out that technically, i.e. on paper and in law and in practice these 12 recommendations will be carried out by them, they decided that they will do it, and let us now release the text, which will create fertile ground for us to say no later.
