I'm telling you that as time passes, it becomes unclear to many here why Mrs. Zurabishvili does not use this constitutional right," says UNM chairman Nika Melia Salome Zurabishvili about the pardoning of the CEO of "Mtavari".
Nika Melia, who is in Brussels with other leaders of the UNM, is holding meetings with various political groups in the European Parliament.
On the air of "Mtavari" Melia said that today in the office of the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, there was a meeting where the main topics of the talks were the implementation of the 12 recommendations of the European Union, the political imprisonment of Nika Gvaramia and the grave health condition of Mikheil Saakashvili.
According to Melia, it is Michel's office that can play a big role for Salome Zurabishvili to make necessary decisions and thus contribute to fulfillment of some of the requirements of the European side.
In addition, according to Nika Melia's assessment, unlike previous visits, attitudes in Europe have changed and they already clearly see that the Georgian Dream is the main factor of polarization in the country:
"If during the previous visits they saw in us [the opposition] a resource, that depolarization would contribute to the representation of the opposition, and here they also saw a problem, today this issue has disappeared from their agenda from start to finish. Because everyone has become given two colors, black and white in Georgia. They hear and observe the positions of the Georgian Dream, which declare the entire Georgian democratic opposition as spies for the United States and the European Union." says Melia.
