The government may draw up the register of oligarchs instead of the parliament - Okhanashvili's initiative

The register of oligarchs may be drawn up by the government of Georgia instead of the Parliament of Georgia. Chairman of the Legal Issues Committee Okhanashvili raised the issue of making appropriate amendments to the draft law.
"We proposed the involvement of the parliament in this process, and this was evaluated by the opposition colleagues as a conflict of interest and used to speculate that we would try the Ukrainian model. We suggest that instead of the parliament, the government of Georgia should be responsible for drawing up the register of oligarchs, as is the case in Ukraine," said Anri Okhanashvili.
