The Public defender is the only non-independent institution today - Kobakhidze

"This is the only non-independent institution in Georgia today, because it depends on some people. I won't specify these someones, that is, it is the only non-independent institution in this country. In case we are unable to elect a candidate, in this case the office of the National Movement remains. The deputies are  National Movement Activists... In 2017, we gave this office to the opposition, and theoretically we can make the same decision now... We are interested in electing a new public defender so that the National Movement no longer has control over this office."

says Kobakhidze, Chairman of "Dream", talking about the Public Defender's Office and the selection of candidates for Public Defender.
