Georgian Dream deputy and chairman of the committee for the protection of human rights predicts that Mikhail Saakashvili's petition for release "has no prospect of being satisfied.
Sarjveladze commented on Judge Arevadze, who is to hear the case of the third president:
"I am sure that whoever was appointed as a judge hearing this case would have made the announcement in advance, because they themselves know that this case has no prospect of settlement. The diagnosis has not been made. If they had the diagnosis to create a basis for the release, why would they cover it up, not disclose it? what do you think? I think they would not do that. They know that they have no such diagnosis, this statement and the request is doomed to fail, this step actually has only a PR function", - Sarjveladze said.
