The situation in the city of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, remains tense. The Russian army is still trying to gain full control over Bakhmut and its surroundings. Until now, it is not possible to retrieve the Georgian heroes from the front line.
Badri Markelia, Roland Kvaratskhelia, Romeo Pichkhaia, Merab Aladashvili and Avto Rurua died in a fierce battle with Bakhmut on December 3. All five were participants in the war in Abkhazia.
After February 24, 33 Georgian heroes died fighting against Russian aggression in Ukraine. For the freedom of Georgia! - This is the main appeal of all Georgians fighting in Ukraine.
