Investigators have entered the room of Georgia's third president - Special Investigative Service officers came to Viva Med to take blood samples of Mikheil Saakashvili.
Additional samples were obtained from the President for toxicological tests at the request of the Samkharauli Bureau.
"The National Bureau of Examinations has read the ruling, including the issue of possible intoxication mentioned in the questions of the ruling regarding the various metals that were declared, so the National Bureau of Examinations felt it appropriate to investigate the issues arising from taking the additional samples.
There is no mention of nail and hair samples, National Bureau of Examinations is what we rely on, we have to take an additional blood sample. I have seen the lawyer's statement about the WHO protocol, I can't comment about that now," says Vasil Kakashvili, a representative of the Special Investigation Service.
It should be noted that Mikheil Saakashvili's lawyer Shalva Khachapuridze has been repeating for days that heavy metals have been detected in the body through hair and nail samples.
"According to the accepted world standard, heavy metals are detected in hair and nails. When suspicion first arose in May, this blood test was done in Germany, and it was not confirmed. "Viva Med" also did so, but the error was that the examination was done with blood, while It should have been done in the hair," Shalva Khachapuridze says.
