The chairman of the parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, responds to the criticism of the MEPs and says that this group of politicians are not a friend of Georgia, but of Mikheil Saakashvili, the third president.

"We see that there is a group of politicians in the European Parliament who are self-proclaimed friends of Georgia, who we see have no interest in Georgia, except for one thing. Since 2012, there is a group in the European Parliament who have only one goal - to punish Bidzina Ivanishvili. They want to return Mikheil Saakashvili to power.
