Another 58 billion cubic meters of natural gas found in the Black Sea - Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that another 58 billion cubic meters of natural gas have been discovered in the Black Sea.

The discovery will increase the country's total offshore gas reserves to approximately 710 billion cubic meters.

At a press conference held after the government meeting, Erdoğan said the wells will start producing in the near future. The field was discovered during the exploration of the Sakarya field in the Black Sea. The Skarya field is expected to start supplying gas to the Turkish grid from the first quarter of 2023.
