Mikheil Saakashvili's lawyer asks for explanations why the third president was banned from sending letters. Shalva Khachapuridze recently visited Mikheil Saakashvili at the Vivamed clinic.

The lawyer also demands that the processes be held in a timely manner and that the Georgian and foreign doctors, on the basis of whose assessment the report on Mikheil Saakashvili's health condition was prepared, be questioned.

"We want to question the American experts, maybe before the new year, and for the court to share our request. Because among the rest of the experts, there is Mrs. Mariam Jishkariani, who must be questioned, including the English expert. The rest of the testimonies, depending on the state of Saakashvili's health, can be published. That's why we will have a request to the court that maybe at least 2 processes will be scheduled before the New Year. After the New Year, 2-3 processes and that will be the end of it. Yesterday, I sent a letter to the penitentiary service with exactly the same question... They did not allow a lawyer on the weekend. What has not happened for so long and the letters do not pose a threat to the state, all this has its own rules and norms, it is also unclear why this person has not had the opportunity to talk on the phone for so long," said Shalva Khachapuridze.
