"People Power" is working on a bill to regulate the spread of lies in the media

According to Guram Macharashvili, a member of the "People's Power" movement, they are completing work on the draft law, which provides for the regulation of the spread of lies in the media.

According to him, the bill is based on the legislation of one of the advanced European democratic states, although he did not specify which one.

"Today, a number of NGOs and media outlets play an important role in the radicalization and polarization of political processes in Georgia. Therefore, we believe that the adoption of both bills prepared by us will make a significant contribution to depolarization, which is a necessary condition for the peaceful and stable development of Georgia," said Macharashvili.

Macharashvili said that "People's Power" will have a principled position regarding the adoption of both packages. According to him, immediately after the initiation, they will start consultations with "Dream", as well as "free from foreign influence and non-radical parliamentary political group".
