In an interview with Ukrainian media, Georgia's third president, Mikheil Saakashvili, spoke about the details surrounding the poisoning and noted that the fact was undoubtedly confirmed by two American laboratories and the leading American toxicologist, David Smith. Mikheil Saakashvili said that Putin had been in control of the Georgian government since Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24 and started the war, and the level of control was unexpected even for himself.

"My poisoning was certainly confirmed by two American laboratories and leading American toxicologist David Smith. Of course, it was primarily to Putin's advantage, who, as it turned out after February 24, is in complete control of the government in Georgia. The level of control was unexpected even to me. The poisoning occurred during the forced transfer to the "prison hospital", where I suddenly became very sick and, as the resuscitator later said, by a miracle did not die. In addition, the poisoning left very severe symptoms. If at the time of my arrest my weight was about 120 kg, now it is 72 kg," says the third president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili in an interview with the Ukrainian media.
