Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the population of occupied Abkhazia and the so-called head of state Aslan Bzhania on New Year and Christmas.
"Dear Aslan Georgievich! From the bottom of my heart and soul I congratulate you with the coming Christmas and New Year. Relations between Russia and Abkhazia are developing dynamically in the spirit of union and strategic partnership. I am sure we will continue our constructive work. on bilateral and regional agenda - for the good of the brotherly peoples, the Caucasus, to strengthen security and stability in the region. I wish you health, happiness and success, and to the people of Abkhazia - success and progress," Putin wrote.
Bzhania thanked the head of the occupant country for congratulations and noted that last year Abkhazia and Russia managed to work on the development of relations based on the principles of alliance and strategic partnership.
