Russian human rights defender Mark Feygin publishes a letter from the third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, in which he writes that the penitentiary system tortures him in captivity, and after the appeal of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, he was banned from smoking and his children are no longer allowed to visit him.

"Thank you very much for your solidarity, humanity and action, which is planned for January 4. Giorgi Margvelashvili, the fourth president of Georgia is right that the penitentiary system tortures me to death in captivity.

After Zelensky's phenomenal address and your activism, I was banned from smoking and my children were banned from visiting me [in the clinic]. The court was postponed for 10 days. My treating doctor committed civic heroism and declared in front of the leadership of the penitentiary system that my condition is quite serious and the clinic has exhausted all its possibilities," writes Mikheil Saakashvili.
