The death of the former president in prison means that you have no respect for your own statehood - General Ben Hodges responds to the condition of the third president and the attitude of the Georgian government towards him in an interview with "Mtavari Channel".
On the air of "Guest of the Day", Ben Hodges, who is in Tbilisi, says that nothing good will happen to the Georgian government if Mikheil Saakashvili dies in prison:
"The death of the former president in prison means that you have no respect for your own statehood. Why do you keep him locked up? What is the danger of keeping this person, who is obviously sick, locked up. As far as I know, he is also a citizen of Ukraine, and this means that there is another way - here we are talking about human dignity, generosity. I hope that the government of Georgia will find a way to solve this problem and not cause irreparable results. Nothing good will happen to the Georgian government if Mikhel Saakashvili dies in prison. Instead, they should do everything possible to ensure that he receives proper medical care," says Ben Hodges in an interview with "Guest of the Day".
