"Many thanks to Human Rights Watch for the conclusion made on my political imprisonment with the highest qualification and with great accuracy," said Nika Gvaramia, founder and CEO of the Mtavari Channel, in a statement distributed from the Rustavi prison.
I express my gratitude to the Human Rights Watch, one of the most reputable international human rights organizations, for the clear and unambiguous conclusion about my political imprisonment, made with the highest qualification and great accuracy.
Here I would like to thank all my friends, relatives and supporters who do not forget me and tirelessly help me to prove my case; it inspires me emotionally and helps my family.
Many thanks to the Georgia NGOs and the Office of the Public Defender, as well as my lawyers who established the decisive evidence and evaluation base to prove my case.
Most importantly and most significantly, thank you to my main ally, my family, Sophie and my children, who with their strength and stamina, encourage me and make me believe that my fight makes sense and victory is inevitable. Personal thanks to Sophie, who with our humble efforts, but with great truth, successfully manages to inform the international community about my case and, in general, about the authoritarian equilibrium established in Georgia.
I patiently and eagerly await the hearing of my case before the European Court of Human Rights. I urge the Supreme Court of Georgia to complete my case in time. Obviously, I have no expectation of acquittal, nor can I have one. The only thing I ask is that they give a verdict known to everyone in advance, so that I can go to the Strasbourg Court and fight there to prove my case.
I wish a successful struggle to all who fight for their truth and a better future for their homeland. Success to the heroic Ukrainian people and to the Georgians fighting in Ukraine. Victory will surely come!
