We ask the Georgian authorities to suspend the sentencing of Mikheil Saakashvili on humanitarian grounds - Norwegian Helsinki Committee

The Helsinki Committee of Norway appeals to the government of "Georgian Dream" and urges them to release the third president of Georgia and transfer him abroad for adequate medical care.

"We ask the Georgian authorities to suspend his sentencing on humanitarian grounds to ensure that Saakashvili can be transferred abroad for treatment, as they are obliged to take all necessary measures to provide him with adequate medical care," said Berit Lindeman, Secretary General of the Norwegian Helsinki Committee.
