"We're focused on the October elections" -Adam Kinzinger

"We are focused on the October elections so that the Georgian people can express their will," said U.S. Congressman Adam Kinzinger in the "Guest of the Day" program at Mtavari Channel.

According to Kinzinger, since he is the chairman of the U.S.-Georgia Friendship Group, he has no intention of interfering in Georgia's internal affairs. However, he notes that the activation of Russian trolls and bots in the run-up to the elections is worrying. In addition, he confirmed the need to implement the 8 March agreement.

"We are focusing on the October elections so that the Georgian people can express their will. No matter what statement I make, it becomes a matter of interpretation from all sides. That is why I am very careful.
The most important thing right now is for people to go to elections and I'm interested in these elections being free, fair and expressing the will of the people, which will be the basis for continued U.S.-Georgian relations because Georgia is a very important partner for the United States".

As for the possibility of cutting U.S. financial aid to Georgia by 15%, according to the Congressman, the main thing is for the Georgian government to take into account U.S. criticism in order to more effectively address existing problems. "We have the same challenges in America, but at the same time, we are working with our partners to give them more freedom, for everyone to be able to express their opinions and for everyone to have a stake in government" said Kinzinger.
