When asked by the lawyer whether he does not eat or cannot eat, Dr. Tengiz Tsuladze, a neurologist, says that Mikheil Saakashvili cannot eat, because anorexia and cachexia cause both nausea and loss of appetite. According to him, managing this process is very difficult from the patient's side and has a complex treatment protocol:
"In the beginning, when the hunger strike started, he probably didn't eat, and now he can't eat anymore. Anorexia and cachexia cause nausea and loss of appetite. Besides, it's not manageable by the patient, he can't manage this so easily, this has its own protocol, which is quite complicated," says Tengiz Tsuladze.
