Resolutions of the European Parliament have become a source of misinformation and attacks on Georgia – Papuashvili

Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili considers the resolution passed by the European Parliament regarding the third president to be a source of disinformation and an attack against Georgia. According to him, a certain group of politicians, who are friends of Mikheil Saakashvili are trying to hinder Georgia's European future.

"Unfortunately, the European Parliament resolutions have become a source of disinformation as well as an attack on Georgia. We have certainly had a lot of mistakes, inaccuracies and misinformation in previous resolutions as well. The phrasing of this resolution presents the situation as if Mikheil Saakashvili was exiled from his homeland. But we know what our recent history, recent history is, that Mikheil Saakashvili fled Georgia, we know that the Georgian and not only the Georgian justice has recognized him as guilty of committing crimes" - Papuashvili said.

According to him, the whole world has seen footage "of Mikheil Saakashvili sneaking into Georgia in a container of dairy products. Papuashvili says that certain political groups are friends of Mikheil Saakashvili, not Georgia, and "they are ready to sacrifice the European future of Georgia to one person.
