If someone says that this is a Russian bill, he is lying - Mdinaradze on Ned Price

Published:

Mamuka Mdinaradze, a Georgian Dream MP, reacted to the US State Department spokesperson's statement on the Russian bill. According to Mdinaradze, statements by strategic partners "should not be based on a false narrative and every word should be “insured."

"Every person, whoever they are and whatever attitude we have towards them, when the representative of our friendly country, the country of our main strategic partner speaks, I believe that every word should be insured and should not be based on a false narrative that has been formed in Georgia about it being a Russian law. How, by the way, can a direct translation of American law be called a Russian law? Are you and I here now? For example if Ned Price, or for example you, or for example any person says that you are not here now, do you think that we should not oppose it and say that we are here now? We are talking about this level of lies and statements based on a false narrative. Let's put aside names and surnames, let's say what is a lie and what is true," said Mamuka Mdinaradze.

After that, the journalist asked Mdinaradze to elaborate and asked him if he thinks that Ned Price is lying. According to Mdinaradze, anyone who says that the bills registered by "People's Power" are Russian is lying.

"I cannot say who lied what, who lied to whom. I can only confirm an undeniable fact. If someone says it is a Russian bill, he is simply lying. ", said Mdinaradze.

This is not the first time Mamuka Mdinaradze has accused the US State Department spokesman of lying: "You sound so surprised, as if Ned Price is not a human being and cannot lie." The Chairman of the ruling party Irakli Kobakhidze also responded to Ned Price's criticism of the Russian bill with the same narrative: "Ned Price was made to lie, anyone who says the initiated law is Russian is lying". To remind you, the State Department once again criticized the Russian draft law. According to Ned Price, the adoption of the law may undermine Georgia's Euro-Atlantic integration. We would also remind you that the so-called "renegades", the MPs who formally left "Dream" submitted a draft law on "transparency of foreign influence" to the parliament. According to the initiative, any media or non-governmental organization that receives more than 20% of its income from abroad must be registered as an "agent of foreign influence". Renegades who have been known for their anti-American and anti-Western rhetoric, argue that the law provides transparency. It is known that "Georgian Dream" is going to support the bill.
