Eka Sepashvili, a member of the People's Power Party, who has formally left the Georgian Dream and is known for her anti-Western statements, addresses the US State Department spokesman Ned Price and urges him to find out more about the initiated in the Parliament draft law.
Ned Price has repeatedly criticised the draft law and said that it was not similar to American law. He said the adoption of the law could undermine Georgia's Euro-Atlantic integration.
"I would advise Ned Price to learn more information related to this draft law. He should also familiarise himself with the European Union's calls for Georgia to be more transparent in the non-governmental sector, this was one of the requests from the European Union, and let him name the specific arguments how more transparency prevents Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration?. He should name concrete arguments instead of such general ones and I call upon them to refrain from using double standards," - Sepashvili said.
For information, yesterday the Foreign Relations and Defense and Security Committees of the Parliament at a joint session supported the "Russian Law" initiated by the MPs who formally left the "Georgian Dream" . Both draft laws initiated by "People's Power" are now being considered by the Legal Affairs Committee. The Committees hearings were held in the background of protests and tensions. There was also a physical confrontation in the parliament, journalists were taken out of the building by force. The rally was also held outside the parliament building.
