There have been many mistakes in our short-lived relationship, both on our side and on the Georgian side, when we did not make enough effort, when we had insufficient democracy to help us integrate into Europe, but there have been many mistakes on the EU side as well. I will not speak much now about 1921, when we were left to Soviet Russia during another geopolitical redistribution, this was also the part of our history, after the August War, instead of punishing Russia, they favored a policy of resettling with Russia. We were denied the status of a candidate for no reason, unlike the two countries, and even now it is an injustice from some European politicians in putting the sign of equality between Mikheil Saakashvili's release and European integration. But that certainly doesn't mean we have any other alternatives."
