Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili responded to the critical resolution of the European Parliament regarding the third president of Georgia. According to him, MEPs are not interested in the opinion of the Georgian people, the sovereignty and independence of our country. According to Garibashvili, by this resolution the MEPs said that Mikheil Saakashvili was their "agent" and therefore they demanded his release.

"I would like to respond to the disgraceful resolution adopted a few weeks ago by the European Parliament, by which those people actually told the Georgian people and us that this person, Mr. Saakashvili, is their agent, he was their servant, they simply do not care about the opinion of the Georgian people, they do not care that this Mr. Saakashvili oppressed, tortured, killed people, terrorized businesses, media freedom was completely suppressed, there was no media, despite all this, despite the fact that this man and his evil regime committed very serious crimes, such as the murder of Girgvliani, the fact of Valery Gelashvili's beating that was nearly killed on the instructions of Saakashvilii and this is directly confirmed, they do not care about the fact that TV Imedi, which was raided and violently taken away, was appropriated, nor do they care about the fact that Mr. Saakashvili he entered the country illegally, of course, he violated the law and he intended, wanted to organize a revolution, bloody raids and kill people. They don't care about all this, they told us that despite all this, we don't care about your opinion, we don't care about your sovereignty, we don't care about your independence, we don't care about your opinion, this man was our servant, our agent, and he should be released from prison. I want to tell everyone that the time when politicians and authorities served the interests of foreign countries is over in the country, we serve the interests of Georgia, and everyone should remember this well," Garibashvili said.

According to him, they should not try to interfere in the internal affairs of the country.
