66 people detained at the rally against the Russian bill in Rustaveli avenue

According to the Interior Ministry, 66 people were administratively detained yesterday on Rustaveli Avenue for petty hooliganism and disobeying the lawful demands of the police at a rally against the Russian bill.

In addition to this, according to the agency, one person was detained on the facts of violations which took place during the March 7-8 protest in front of the parliament building, in particular, under part one of article 353 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, in particular, assault against police officers. A total of 133 people have been administratively detained under Articles 166 and 173 of the Code of Administrative Offences.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, investigative measures are underway to establish, identify and detain those involved in the attacks on police officers and other violent acts near the parliament building and on Rustaveli Avenue.

The agency reports that about 10 MIA officers sustained injuries of varying degrees and citizens were also injured.
