Chairman of "Georgian Dream", Irakli Kobakhidze, does not directly answer the question whether the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, is a war criminal. According to him, we should wait for the court's decision.
"The historic result will be the establishment of peace in Ukraine, we have to wait for that. As for the recognition of specific persons as criminals, this is the matter of the relevant court and we have to wait. We have to wait for the court's decision, the arrest warrant does not mean the court's decision," said Kobakhidze.
He answered the journalist's clarifying question why he is afraid to call Putin a war criminal:
"Nobody is afraid of anything. I will remind you of 2008, I think it would have been better if the previous government was afraid before the war, not during the war, and it would have been better if the so-called Commander-in-Chief had not fled to Gori, but had been afraid before, not when they were fleeing to the Red Bridge. Fear is needed when you should be afraid, and when you should not be afraid, you should show your courage to the people. The previous government acted the opposite, they were not afraid before the war, and were afraid during the war. We are acting on the contrary, you should be afraid for your country in order to protect peace in your country.
In his opinion, such fear is not only justified, but it is a responsibility before the people and the country.
