Georgian Dream MP Mariam Lashkhi calls the rally in support of Lazare Grigoriadis "a "rally in support of violence and violators' and says that MEP Viola von Cramon participated in it. This comment of the MP has been disseminated by Imedi. According to her, this is totally unacceptable.
"The European Parliament which on the one hand calls for depolarisation, on the rule of law, at the same time MEPs are involved in actions that support violence, violators... We remember the statements about 'transparency'. The European Parliament, on the one hand, can support this in its own country and make it look like a Maidan in another country. So it is totally unacceptable," Lashkhi said.
For information, on April 1 "European Georgia" organized a rally in support of Lazare Grigoriadis in front of the State Chancellery, which was attended by MEP Viola von Cramon. In March, Grigoriadis participated in protests against the "Russian law". He was detained on 29 March. The Interior Ministry says he threw stones and "Molotov cocktails" at police officers and set fire to a car belonging to the Interior Ministry. The 21-year-old has been remanded in custody following a court order. At the trial, he said he wanted to testify again.
