The Prime Minister, Irakli Gharibashvili, said that during the meeting with the members of the Supreme Council of Justice, he heard disturbing information, including information about some pressure and attempts to intervene in the judicial system.
According to him, any interference in the judicial system is absolutely unacceptable.
"First of all, I want to say that it was a closed meeting, and naturally I cannot share the content of our conversation with you. But I will tell you that I heard a lot of information, among which I would say disturbing one, there was information about certain pressures, about interventions, which, of course, I want to emphasize once again that it is absolutely unacceptable. I also heard a lot of good initiatives and new ideas that exist in the Council, and we had a conversation about this," Garibashvili said.
According to the Prime Minister, due to the fact that the meeting was closed, he cannot talk about these facts publicly now, although according to him, "the time will come and the public will learn about it." Let us remind you that the judges requested the meeting with Garibashvili after the USA sanctioned 4 Georgian judges.
