Implementation of revolutionary scenarios is funded by IRI money - Papuashvili urges audit to take interest in party schemes

The Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili claims that several parties have established non-governmental organizations - "Fake NGOs" to obtain grants and use the money in politics. Papuashvili's comment is broadcast by "Public Broadcaster".

The Speaker of the Parliament said that the IRI finances such events where weapons training and revolutionary scenarios are introduced. According to him, it is important for the IRI to publicize the amount of money with which it finances the so-called NGO, which is actually a continuation of "Girchi" party.

He called on the audit service to take an interest in the mentioned information.

"It is very shocking to see such events funded with US taxpayers' money. I urge these organizations to make public what their money is being spent on, that aggressive groups and those who reject the elections are being funded, so that there will be no talk later about the money being used for the Georgian people. This money is directly used in cases against the national interests of the Georgian people, so it is important to review this issue. It is as if some "NGO" is organizing events. In fact, this is a fake "NGO" founded by the members of the political council of the Girch. This is the usual scheme of bypassing the law to obtain foreign funding. The usual bypassing of the law is going on, and I call the audit among them to take interest in these schemes, we have seen several such schemes even in case of other parties, that fake NGOs are created and parties are funded from abroad, which is banned in Georgia and not only in Georgia, it is a general rule that foreign money has nothing to do with politics. Such schemes have been exposed in case of 'Girchi', in case of 'Droa', in case of other parties, 'European Georgia' has also created fake NGOs which are not only affiliated with these parties but they are directly founded and managed by their leaders and political money is presented as a grant, which again is illegal party funding," Papuashvili said.
