What steps did the so-called friends take in 2008? Only worrying and concern - Kaladze

You can't bring any statement from the Georgian government that someone would make an anti-European statement - this is how Tbilisi Mayor Kaladze responded to today's statements of MEPs, where they quoted Gharibashvili's anti-Western statements in the European Parliament today. According to Kaladze, "Georgian Dream is the team that took effective steps towards the European integration of Georgia".

"You cannot bring any statement with regard to the government of Georgia, even the Prime Minister or any of our teammates, that would be an anti-European statement. We are the team, the government, which aspires to European integration, to join the big European family as soon as possible. Actually, those who have taken concrete, effective steps, this is the "Georgian Dream" since 2012, but there is another theme: these people do not like to be told the truth. I understand that it is bitter to hear and it is difficult for them, however, if we had done it in time and told the truth, even to our friends, the trouble that is happening in Ukraine today might not have happened", said Kakha Kaladze.

Kaladze called the European partners so-called friends and accused them of inaction during the 2008 war. "The tragedy that happened in our country in 2008, when we lost territories, many people died, both civilians and our hero soldiers, what were the steps taken by the so-called friends? Only indignation and concern. This is the reality." , - says Kaladze.
