Mayor Kaladze believes that the statements made by European Parliamentarian Marina Kaljurand in relation to Georgia do not reflect the reality. According to him, Georgia's European future has enemies both inside and outside the country.
"I will say frankly: it really seems that she is talking about another country and is completely out of touch with reality. Unfortunately, such cases are frequent when we hear insulting statements about our country. Do not think that these are statements made against the government of Georgia, these are statements made against this country, and unfortunately it should be noted that both inside and outside the country, our country, the European future, and European integration have enemies," said Kaladze.
Kaladze does not like Kaljurand's assessment that the progress in the direction of the 12 priorities is incomplete and often superficial, and claims that Georgia is advanced in this respect.
"First, what does superficial performance mean? We said that all 12 recommendations will be implemented by June, the process is ongoing. Let's take any parameter. I am not talking about Ukraine, I understand what is happening in this country and how much trouble is going on, but when this person comes out and says that Georgia is behind Moldova, she is, to say the least, worthy of ridicule. Let's take any parameters published by international organizations and make comparisons in absolutely all directions - you will see how our country is ahead in all aspects. When that wrong decision was made not to grant us the status, we also know very well what it was done for - they wanted to use it politically inside the country against the government, but I want to assure these people and repeat once again that they will not succeed from the point of view of making confrontations, revolutions. They will not succeed. In Georgia, the current government has a very big supporter - the citizens of our country, and we are the government that carries the interest of this country and each of its citizens", said Kakha Kaladze.
