200 GEL for children and reimbursement of tuition fees for socially vulnerable students - PM

All citizens of Georgia under the age of 17 will receive one-time assistance in the amount of 200 GEL from the state, - stated Giorgi Gakharia. 

He said that this assistance will be provided in order to support children socially during the crisis.

At the same time, by the prime minister's order, all the students with social indicators up to 150 will receive reimbursement from the government for one semester in 2020-2021; and for all the students whose social indicators are up to 150 and whose status of student was suspended due to non-payment of tuition fees, the state will reimburse the tuition fees during one academic year in 2020-2021. According to the Prime Minister, this amounts to GEL 1225.

The PM  also spoke about the continuation of the social assistance project, within which all the self-employed people, who did not benefit from a one-time assistance of GEL 300 due to the failure to fill in the necessary documents, will still receive this assistance.

In addition, according to the Prime Minister's decree, from November to February, the state will pay utility bills to the citizens of Georgia for 4 months on the same principle that was used  during the coronavirus pandemic.
