"As for the issue of rhetoric, here too I think MEPs should be serious. It is absolutely striking to see such a childish attitude on such an issue, and we have heard this many times, including during conversations with various structures of the European Union, not to criticise MEPs so to speak. We know what is going on. There are several members of the European Parliament who are in the opposition-owned media every other day, appearing as commentators on Georgian politics, directly stating that the government of Georgia has made a deal with Moscow, Putin, Russia and use the narrative that the National Movement in general has. There of course, is our answer, reaction, as soon as there is criticism from our side they get insulted, how can they be criticized.
I am very sorry, but if we are talking about our European approach, looking down on another country, no matter how small we are compared to other countries, this is not the attitude of the European Union, it reminds us of a different time, and in the European Union there are countries and people who grew up precisely in that system, and I don't know if it's nostalgia or not, but looking down and having such an attitude towards the country is certainly not possible. If they criticize, we also criticize, and they should accept it, it is part of the normal political debate, and be kind and behave like adult politicians and bear this criticism."
Speaker of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili says on "Imedi" broadcast.
