The Ukrainian government's position on Mikheil Saakashvili is insulting- Kobakhidze

In the opinion of the Chairman of the Georgian Dream, Irakli Kobakhidze, the position of the Ukrainian government regarding the third president of Georgia is "insulting". As Kobakhidze noted, he does not want to talk about this issue in detail because the Georgian government wants to maintain "even one-sided friendship with Ukraine".

"Regarding yesterday's move by the President of Ukraine related to Mikheil Saakashvili, I don't want to go deep into this topic for the simple reason that it concerns the president of a country that is at war, but in general this position of the government is certainly offensive to us. It is insulting in itself that it was later acknowledged that our opponents, specific high-ranking officials of the Ukrainian government were involved in sending Saakashvili to Georgia, and today, when the same government is demanding that Saakashvili be returned to Ukraine, there are certainly signs of insult in this. I do not want to get into this, we want to keep even a unilateral friendship with the Ukrainian authorities, because this country is at war right now" - said Irakli Kobakhidze.

We remind you that on July 3, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, demanded the handover of Mikheil Saakashvili to Ukraine. He ordered the Georgian ambassador to Ukraine to leave the country within 48 hours in order to hold consultations in Tbilisi on the issue of Mikheil Saakashvili's handover to Ukraine. As Volodymyr Zelensky mentioned while talking about the issue, now Russia is killing Ukrainian citizen Mikheil Saakashvili with the hands of the Georgian authorities.
