The MFA does not intend to hold any consultations with the Ambassador of Georgia to Ukraine - Darchiashvili

Published:

According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilia Darchiashvili, the agency does not intend to hold consultations with the Georgian Ambassador to Ukraine. Darchiashvili spoke about Ukraine's decision regarding Mikheil Saakashvili on "Imedi" TV. He called the decision unfair and undiplomatic. As Darchiashvili mentioned, the ambassador will continue his work from Tbilisi.

"This is unfair, baseless, unfriendly and undiplomatic. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not going to hold any consultations with the Ambassador. By the way, the Ambassador has left the territory of Ukraine, he is on his way to Georgia, he will continue to work in the Ministry as an Ambassador from Tbilisi. The Georgian embassy in Kyiv continues to work, diplomats are on the ground and we will continue to work in this direction. I think there are no questions at all about Mr. Saakashvili's health condition, which became the basis for making this decision, the Strasbourg court made a corresponding decision, and therefore this [Ukrainian] decision is groundless," said Darchiashvili.

We remind you that on July 3, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, demanded the handover of Mikheil Saakashvili to Ukraine. He ordered the Georgian Ambassador to Ukraine to leave the country within 48 hours in order to hold consultations in Tbilisi on the issue of Mikheil Saakashvili's handover to Ukraine. As Volodymyr Zelensky mentioned while talking about the issue, now Russia is killing Ukrainian citizen Mikheil Saakashvili with the hands of the Georgian authorities.
