The majority of Georgian citizens are against "ordered provocations" against Russia - Zakharova

The spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, responds to the protest against the Russian cruise ship in Batumi and says that the majority of Georgian citizens do not support the "ordered provocations against Russia" which "the radical Georgian opposition organizes at the request of Western sponsors".

"This protest has no support within the country. We receive a lot of appeals from Georgian citizens who say that this senseless provocation is unacceptable to them, that they, as a country, have no connection with these people and are estranged from them," - Zakharova said.

According to him, people who commit such actions do not represent the population of Georgia but the patrons.

He also says that US Ambassador to Tbilisi Kelly Degnan is "directly teaching Georgian citizens how to live".
